14th Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramic and Glass Technology (PACRIM 14)
Project G team member David Kotaro Dobesh contributed research findings in the 14th Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramic and Glass Technology (PACRIM 14) and the Glass and Optical Materials Division 2021 (GOMD 2021) Annual Meeting.
Contributions to the international conference were accomplished by David Kotaro Dobesh with the oral presentation of „Compositional Effects on the Crystallization of BCZT Perovskite Glass-Ceramics“. The contribution was presented in the GOMD S1 session: Glass Crystallization and Glass-Ceramics led by industry and scientific leaders. The session included advances in the fundamental understanding of crystallization in glasses, novel processing techniques for glass-ceramics, amorphous phase separation and the role in crystallization, and modeling aspects of nucleation and growth in glass-forming materials.
The work in project G was presented on the nucleating and crystallization mechanisms within an inverse glass compositional space. Insights on the role of the intermediate behavior of titanium and zirconium were proposed on the glass matrix connectivity. Thermal analysis was demonstrated on the compositional influence of the nucleating agents and their character for homogeneous crystallization. The work contributed to the analytical methods and experimental parameters for lead-free crystallization pathways in amorphous glass structures.
