Cultural Workshop
The 1.5 day Cultural Workshop was held on December 7th and 8th 2023. It was hosted again by doctoral researcher Tamara Fuchs, who works closely with the IRTG and culturally prepares the IRTG doctoral researchers and equips them with basic Japanese language skills for their trip to Japan.
While the basics of culture, communication and knowledge about Japan’s social society and everyday life were covered on December 7th, the doctoral researchers had the opportunity to try out the Japanese language for themselves on December 8th. The second day also covered cultural celebrations and holidays. In addition to theoretical facts, practical exercises were not neglected: Together, they folded origami cranes, took part in an exercise on personal space in different cultures or practiced introducing themselves in Japanese.
