Joint Doctoral Degree
Since 2022, FAU and NITech worked on developing a joint doctoral program (JDP) that allows both FAU and NITech doctoral researchers to obtain a bi-national doctoral degree following the Cotutelle de Thèse model jointly from both universities. This will be launched in April 2024.
This is a very attractive added value for FAU and NITech IGK2495 doctoral researchers and is a clear demonstration of the continued scientific commitment and the importance of the partnership between both institutions. It is also important to note that this is the first such agreement in Japan.
In order to participate in the JDP, doctoral researchers have to apply and meet certain requirements. Here, participation in the IGK2495 qualification programme and a minimum 10-month research stay at the partner university will qualify doctoral researchers for the JDP.
